We recently got a new computer with a web cam (this is all part of the evolution of the office into the baby's room) and just had to give it a test run. So Jennifer decided to do a little dance for everyone. I guess a hurt butt can't stop a pregnant dancing machine. Enjoy!

What a pain in the ass!!!
So this posting is not quite relevant to the pregnancy per say....but it does have relevance to the health of the pregnant lady.
It all started two weeks ago when Jennifer came down with what seemed to be a very basic case of the stomach flu. However, unlike stomach flu's of the past this one decided to hang around for about 4 days. And when I say stomach flue I mean the kind that your rear end hates having. Now that we have that clear, we can move on to really fun part of this little adventure. A few days after the flue was over Jennifer was having some discomfort in her......asssssssk me later where....and it really just seemed at the time that it was simply residual discomfort from having the stomach flue for 4 days. But by Tuesday night (June 10th) Jennifer was in a lot of pain! It hurt so badly that she couldn't sit or lay down comfortably. This was a sure sign to us that this was not just soreness so we promptly made an appointment with the PCP.
By the time Jennifer got to her PCP on Wednesday (June 11th) she could hardly bare the pain. We were promptly directed to go straight to the ER where they would attend to a possible rectal abscess.
We made our way to Winchester Hospital where we received some of the best ER care we've ever had. We were given a room within a 1/2 hour of arriving and saw a doctor about 15 minutes after that. We ended up consulting with a great surgeon (Dr. Cornell) about going in for surgery to drain the abscess. Needless to say, the physical exam Dr. Cornell performed nearly killed Jennifer because it caused her so much pain but it was necessary to confirm the location of the abscess and be sure that was indeed what we were dealing with.
So at 8:00 pm Jennifer was prepped and ready for surgery. The preparation included a spinal block and IV fluids. The removal of the abscess lasted in total about 1/2 hour and soon there after I was tending to Jennifer in the recovery room. I was so relieved that Jennifer and our little baby were ok. All the nurses and doctors took such great care of us and we felt really comfortable there. They let us listen to the baby's heart beat before, during and after the surgery which really put our minds at ease.
Jennifer had to stay in the hospital for two very long nights and was released today. She is doing really well and feels tons better now that her ass doesn't hurt. This was quite a side-bar adventure for our little family but we are all doing fine and look forward to continuing with a low stress pregnancy.

The Belly Bump Development
After getting several requests for some pictures of Jennifer and the baby bump, we finally got our act together and put a little photo montage of the developing belly bump thus far. We have had great fun taking weekly pictures of the growth of our baby boy and watching Jennifer's belly get bigger and bigger. It is perhaps one of the most beautiful sights to see your wife growing your baby and even more wonderful to know that she is enjoying every minute of it.
By the way, Jennifer has been feeling our little man move for a few weeks now and I have even had a chance to feel some punches and jabs too. It's truly amazing that there is a living, breathing being inside of Jennifer and that we will get to meet him in only 4 months!
