Our baby's placenta finally got with the program and decided to start working this week! This means that Jennifer no longer has to take any more progesterone. Her body will be making on its own from now on.
We are almost into the second trimester and so far it has been easy sailing. Jennifer has been magnificent and hasn't complained one bit. I must say that I feel very lucky to have such a trooper for a wife.
The time seems to be flying by and before you know it we will be in the full swing of summer and pregnancy. We are also really looking forward to learning the sex of our little one which will be sometime mid-May. We will keep you updated and let you know all the exciting news.

The Mean Bean
Here are some new pictures of our little bean...now affectionately called the "mean bean." I will let you know know in a second how our little one got this new nickname.
So, today we went for an ultrasound to measure the thickness of the skin of the neck of our baby. This test, combined with two blood tests of Jennifer, will be able to tell us with 90% assurance of any chromosomal abnormalities. In order for the doctors to measure the neck our the baby he/she needs to be in a very particular position. He/she needs to show us a profile and not be resting on the uterus. Well, of course our little one decided to be difficult and start to test our patience at an early age. We were with the ultrasound tech for 1 full hour trying to coax the baby to get into the right position, and thus the new nickname for our little one was born..."the mean bean." The good news of all this is that we got to see lots and lots of images of our baby and we even got to see it stretch and punch it's little arms. It was an amazing experience to see the baby move and wiggle around.
Tomorrow is Jennifer's third Progesterone test to see if she can finally be free from the shackles of the Progesterone suppositories. We'll keep you updated.
